Northern Mindanao Workers to Receive P39 Wage Hike

Workers in the private sector in Northern Mindanao will receive a daily minimum wage increase starting in January 2026, following the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board’s approval of a P39 increase for non-agriculture and agriculture sectors in wage categories 1 and 2. The increase will be implemented in two tranches: P25 on January 16, 2026, and P14 on May 1, 2026. Minimum daily wages will rise from P461 to P486 on January 16, 2026, and then to P500 on May 1, 2026, for category 1, which includes cities like Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, while category 2 areas will see an increase from P446 to P471 on January 16, 2026, and then to P485 on May 1, 2026. Domestic workers will also receive a P500 monthly wage increase, from P6,000 to P6,500.
