VP Duterte visits soldiers wounded in clash with militants in Lanao Norte
CAGAYAN DE ORO (MindaNews / 23 February) – Vice President Sara Duterte visited the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital to give assistance to the soldiers who were wounded in the February 18 clash with the Dawla Islamiyah-Maute Group militants in Munai town, Lanao del Norte.
“We visited them primarily to check their general welfare. We also provided some cash assistance to help them with their needs as they recover,” Duterte told reporters.
Four wounded soldiers—Corporal Reymark Limare, Private First Class Raymond Dominguez and Privates Nazareno Provido and Marvine Aquino, all from the 44th Infantry Battalion—are recuperating at the Army hospital.

BARMM sends relief food to flood-hit Moro residents in Davao Region
CAGAYAN DE ORO (MindaNews / 23 February) – The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao sent relief food to Moro residents who were affected by the recent floods in the Davao Region.
Jidday Buat Lucman, information officer of the BARMM Ministry of Social Services and Development said each Moro family received 25 kilograms of rice and food packs.

P6.8-M worth of shabu seized in Lanao Sur
CAGAYAN DE ORO (MindaNews / 23 February) – Drug enforcement agents arrested two persons and seized more than P6.8 million of suspected shabu in Bubong town, Lanao del Sur Thursday.
Director Gil Cesario Castro of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency -Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao identified the suspects as Jamel Dimaporo, 29, and Jalil Macapayong, 29, both from Barangay Pindolonan, Bubong.
Castro said the two men were arrested after they allegedly handed over a kilo of suspected shabu to an undercover agent.
He said the arrest and seizure is one of the major accomplishments of PDEA-BARMM which has already seized P30 million worth of suspected shabu since January this year. (Froilan Gallardo/MindaNews)
