A forwarding company claimed to have a real-time tracking system for shipments, but it failed to deliver two boxes sent by a family in Greensboro, Alabama to their relatives in Davao City, Philippines. The boxes were loaded in July 2025 and the family was told they were on their way to Davao City, but they never arrived, despite repeated checks. The husband of the family’s sister-in-law, who sent the boxes, died of a heart attack on New Year’s Eve, and the family is now criticizing the forwarding company for its failed tracking mechanism and poor service. Meanwhile, Davao City experienced several fires during the New Year’s celebration, resulting in significant damage, including a P48 million loss for a mall in Buhangin. The Makabayan activist group has also called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to arrest US President Donald Trump for his alleged bombing of the Venezuelan capital Caracas and the arrest of President Nicholas Maduro, but it is unlikely that the ICC can take action against Trump, given that the US is not a signatory to the Rome Statute and the ICC lacks the authority to enforce an arrest.
