The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has located three female minors who were reported missing on Saturday night, Dec. 13, in Purok 4, Barangay Mintal, Tugbok District, dispelling initial kidnapping fears. The children were found safe and have been reunited with their families. According to Col Mannan Caracas Muarip, acting DCPO chief, the minors were accompanied by unknown individuals for Christmas caroling, which caused alarm when they did not return home at the expected time. An investigation revealed that there was no kidnapping incident, and the minors were not harmed. Muarip reminded netizens about responsible social media use, urging them to exercise responsibility and verify information with authorities before posting or sharing it to avoid creating unnecessary fear and panic. The DCPO has reiterated its commitment to child protection and community safety, and has asked parents, guardians, and barangay officials to remain vigilant and proactive in overseeing the welfare and safety of their constituents. The community is encouraged to work closely with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activity to the nearest police station and relying solely on official and verified information released by the Philippine National Police and the Davao City Police Office.
