Marcos’ Jet Transports Duterte to The Hague

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 12 March) — The aircraft that transported former President Rodrigo Duterte to Dubai en route to The Hague in the Netherlands, where he will face the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged crimes against humanity, is the same plane frequently used by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his domestic travels. The Gulfstream G550 (RP-C5219) departed Manila at 11:03 p.m. for Dubai, as tracked by Flightradar24. The plane landed in Dubai at 4:03 a.m. local time and later took off for Rotterdam at 11:58 a.m., scheduled to arrive at 5:04 p.m. local time. Social media posts and government agency records show Marcos regularly using the aircraft, though its ownership remains unclear. Pilipinas Asian Pearl Airways, a private charter airline approved by Congress in 2015, is listed as the operator, raising questions about the jet’s usage and ownership. Kitty Duterte, the former president’s daughter, claimed the plane was used to “kidnap” her father in an Instagram post. (Yas D. Ocampo / MindaNews)
