The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council activated the Emergency Operations Center and placed the city under “Blue Alert” status for the 2025 Kadayawan Festival, which will be observed from August 7-31, 2025. This measure aims to intensify emergency preparedness and ensure public safety and security, as the council anticipates increased movement of people and potential risks of civil disturbances or natural hazards during the festival. The Blue Alert status requires proactive monitoring and response, and the council will heighten disaster preparedness and response efforts, as well as augment resources. The Emergency Operations Center will ensure continuous coordination, monitoring, and implementation of security and safety measures for the safe observance of the event, which is set to open on August 8 at Magsaysay Park.
