A fire broke out at the Gaisano Mall of Davao along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, on Thursday evening, nearly three weeks after a previous fire incident occurred on the mall’s third floor. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection-Davao (BFP-Davao), the fire started around 7:20 p.m. at the Mang Inasal restaurant on the ground floor and was extinguished by 8:15 p.m. The restaurant was partially destroyed, with damages estimated at P500,000, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause. No injuries or missing persons were reported. The mall management stated that the fire originated from one of its tenants and was promptly addressed by their emergency team, BFP-Davao, and volunteer firefighters. Operations are set to resume on Friday.
