The Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Davao City Police Office issued citation tickets to 25 motorists for various traffic violations during a one-hour operation dubbed “Oplan Kalsada” that began at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 16. The operation, led by Staff Sergeant Guadalupe under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel Christian Antonio D. Garcia, focused on addressing aggressive, unroadworthy, and illegally modified vehicles. The apprehended motorists were cited for offenses including violations of the Motorcycle Helmet Act, other provisions of the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, and local city ordinances. The operation also targeted vehicles with illegally modified or loud mufflers, commonly known as “bora-bora” or “kalkal”.
