Week of mourning in San Juan for late Vice Mayor Warren Villa

The city of San Juan in Metro Manila will mark the passing of its Vice Mayor Warren Villa with a week-long mourning period, Mayor Francis Zamora said Monday.

Executive Order No. 151 issued by Zamora mandates a period of mourning in the city from June 19 to 25.

“All Philippine flags within the territorial jurisdiction of San Juan shall be flown at half-mast and all official city events and celebrations shall be suspended during the duration of the mourning period, as a mark of reverence and remembrance for Vice Mayor Villa,” he said in a statement.

The mayor earlier announced that Villa had passed away on Sunday evening, with his wife Inah and their son Hab by his side.

Additional details were not immediately available.

“Warren was a dear friend to me and we are mourning the loss of a beloved San Juaneño whose invaluable contribution to our city’s progress, we will forever honor,” Zamora said on Sunday.

“Maraming salamat sa iyong kabutihan at paglilingkod sa ating mga mamamayan. Mahal ka namin, Warren.” — BM, GMA Integrated News
