A Taiwanese fugitive wanted for online fraud and human trafficking has been arrested by the authorities in Makati City.
According to John Consulta’s report on “24 Oras,” the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU) arrested Yuan Bo-Chun and his companion, Lin Jyun-Ze, in a condominium unit.
Yuan allegedly ran to the Philippines after he sold fellow Taiwanese individuals to scamming centers in Cambodia.
However, the online fraud seemed to have been brought to the Philippines.
“Nag-originate ito sa tip ng informant. Sila ay nagset-up ng isang online gaming application sa Taiwan at sila nga ay nanloloko ng kanilang customers,” said BI-FSU Chief Rendel Sy.

During the operation, the authorities found the working computers and text blast machines hidden in the four condo units, targeting Philippine registered numbers.
The scripts used in their text blast scams were also found, where they claim that anyone could get their e-wallet once they registered with their spamming links.
In addition, authorities also recovered four high-powered assault rifles with laser and scope, magazines, and assorted ammunition from other countries, including jars of “kush’ and drug paraphernalia.
When asked about his alleged illegal activities, Yuan said, “I don’t know anything.”
“It is very alarming that a fugitive, a foreign national, when he is arrested he is in possession of several high-powered firearms. We would like to know saan galing ang mga armas,” said Police Major General Jose Melencio Nartatez.
A complaint of illegal possession of firearms and violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act has been filed against the two Taiwanese.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
