Suspects in alleged kidnap of POGO workers nabbed after parking in no-parking zone

Three suspected members of a kidnap for ransom group preying on Philippine offshore gaming operations or POGOs have been arrested after they allegedly tried to abduct another victim.

According to John Consulta’s report on “24 Oras”, the victim escaped after the suspects were apprehended for parking in a no-parking zone.

“While in transit, according to the victim, at gunpoint, hinihingan siya ng P300,000 para i-release daw siya,” said Police Colonel Froilan Uy, chief of the Pasay City Police.

“Napadaan sila dito sa isang malaking establishment dito sa Pasay at nag-park sandali. Tapos nakita sila ng security guard, dahil yung kanilang nahintuan ay no parking zone,” he added.

“While yung security guard ay papalapit, nakakuha ng timing itong ating victim na lumabas ng sasakyan, nagsisigaw, humihingi ng tulong,” Uy said.

The suspects reportedly tried to flee but were immediately caught by the authorities.
