One of the suspects in the murder of a former close-in security aide of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso surrendered to the authorities on Tuesday.

According to Tuesday Niu’s report in Super Radyo dzBB, the suspect, who goes by alias “Biboy,” was brought to the mayor’s office.

The suspect claimed that he did not know that his companion would shoot victim George Capistrano.

He added that he did not have any gun with him at that time, and that he only drove the motorcycle they used to rob the victim, the report said.

Domagoso said that manhunt operations against the gunman are ongoing.

Capistrano, who was a retired cop, was shot dead in the wee hours of Sunday, March 15.

CCTV footage showed the victim on a motorcycle entering a street in Barangay 134 in Balut, Tondo. He was followed by two men on a motorcycle.

The two suspects then stopped and one of them pointed a gun at the victim, who initially tried to fight back but was felled by two shots.

Witnesses said the suspects took the victim’s jewelry.

The Manila mayor on Monday offered a P500,000 reward to the motorcycle rider seen in the CCTV and gave a 48-hour ultimatum to surrender.

Domagoso also vowed that he would be given protection under the witness protection program. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BM, GMA Integrated News
