Some roads near Quiapo closed starting Thursday night —Manila LGU

Some roads in Manila will be closed on Thursday night in preparation for a procession to be conducted by the Quiapo Church for Good Friday. 

In an advisory posted on its social media account, the City of Manila said the road closure on Maundy Thursday, March 28, will start at 10 p.m.

The affected roads are:

  • Northbound and Southbound lane of Quezon Boulevard from A. Mendoza/Fugoso to Quezon Bridge straight to P. Burgos (Park N’ Ride);
  • Westbound lane of España Boulevard from P. Campa to Lerma Streets;
  • Stretch of Evangelista from C.M. Recto to Villalobos;
  • Northbound lane of Rizal Avenue from Carriedo to C.M. Recto Avenue;
  • Stretch of Gonzalo Puyat from Quezon Boulevard (south bound) to Rizal Avenue;
  • Stretch of C. Palanca Street from P. Casal to Plaza Lacson;
  • Stretch of Arlegui from Quezon Boulevard (north bound) to Legarda;
  • Westbound lane of Legarda from Arlegui to C.M. Recto;
  • San Rafael (Plaza del Carmen) from Legarda to Quezon Boulevard (north bound);
  • Stretch of S.H. Loyola to C.M. Recto to Bilibid Viejo;
  • Northbound lane of McArthur Bridge.

Motorists intending to utilize Quezon Boulevard from A. Mendoza shall turn right to Fugoso Street, left to Rizal Avenue or Tomas Mapua Street. to point of destination.

Meanwhile, those coming from Quezon City utilizing westbound lane of España Boulevard shall turn left to Nicanor Reyes Street (Morayta), turn left to C.M. Recto Ave. or turn right to P. Campa Street, to Fugoso Street to point of destination.

Motorists coming from P. Burgos Avenue intending to utilize Quezon Bridge or McArthur Bridge shall go straight to Jones Bridge to point of destination

Those coming from Ayala Bridge intending to utilize Palanca Street shall go straight to P. Casal Street to point of destination.

Motorists coming from Sta. Mesa intending to utilize westbound lane of Legarda shall turn right to C.M. Recto Avenue to point of destination.
