Two police officers have filed a complaint against Marikina 1st District Representative Marcy Teodoro for alleged acts of lasciviousness and rape by sexual assault, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said Thursday.
According to the DOJ, the complainants were previously assigned as Teodoro’s close-in security at different times.
One of the complainants alleged that during her assignment, the lawmaker committed acts of lasciviousness, which is punishable under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code.
Meanwhile, the DOJ said the other complainant first served as the close-in security of his spouse and was later reassigned to him. She alleged that he committed rape by sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness.
The DOJ said it withheld the identity of the complainants for their security.
GMA News Online has sought comment from Teodoro, and he said that he is still “waiting for the copy of the complaint.”
The DOJ, meanwhile, said Teodoro will be afforded full due process and remain impartial.
“The complaints will undergo case build-up and legal evaluation to determine sufficiency of evidence before any preliminary investigation. This ensures that any action, if warranted, will rest on a complete and substantiated record,” it said.
“The Department reiterates its commitment to act impartially and to pursue all cases strictly on the basis of evidence and law,” it later added. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
