Residents nab suspect in church robbery

With the help of the villagers, authorities arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of robbing a church in Barangay Deparo, North Caloocan.

Barangay officials said a concerned citizen reported that a man had been robbing the church, Marisol Abdurahman reported on “24 Oras.” 

“Allegedly daw po may naririnig yung pari na maingay, may humahalughog. So ang sabi ng tanod puntahan yung kisame,” said Joboy Zuñiga, a village official. 

When the barangay personnel arrived, the residents were already surrounding the alleged thief.

“Inikutan na po nung mga tao yung bahay e. Kahit san siya pumunta, talagang mahuhuli siya,” said Zuñiga. 

Before he was taken down, he was stripped of his clothes to make sure that he didn’t have a knife. 

The suspect, Mark Gil del Rosario, was brought to the Caloocan Police Sub-Station 9. 

“Inakyat ko yung bahay. Magnanakaw po,” said del Rosario. 

According to the police, the suspect has a standing warrant of arrest for robbery with homicide in Quezon City.
