PNP chase, shoot it out with suspect who tried to flee in BGC

Policemen chased and nabbed a Chinese who tried to flee from and shot at arresting officers on Monday night.

The PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group was about to serve a warrant of arrest against the suspect when he resisted and opened fire.

It was then that the PNP-AKG operatives called for back-up from the Taguig City police.

“Nagkameron ng chase. It’s a running gunbattle. And before that maraming sasakyan ang tinamaan na na-damage nila. And they end up here in the circle. Dito sila na-corner,” Taguig chief of police Police Col. Robert Baesa said.

(There was a chase. It’s a running gunbattle. And before that, many vehicles were hit and damaged. And they end up here in the circle. They were cornered here.)

The warrants were for charges of deceit, resistance and disobedience to an agent of a person in authority, and unjust vexation.

He has a fourth case in connection with kidnapping.

The suspect, who was on board a white SUV, has been brought to the hospital. —NB, GMA Integrated News
