Number coding suspended on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority suspended on Monday, September 1, 2025, the Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or expanded number coding scheme.

This is due to the bad weather, the MMDA said.

The UVVRP, implemented from 7 a.m.-10 a.m. and 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Mondays to Fridays except holidays, prohibits certain vehicles on Metro Manila roads depending on the last digit on their license plates: 1 and 2 (Mondays), 3 and 4 (Tuesdays), 5 and 6 (Wednesdays), 7 and 8 (Thursdays), and 9 and 0 (Fridays).

Exempted from the UVVRP are public utility vehicles, transport network vehicles services (TNVS), motorcycles, garbage trucks, government-marked vehicles, fuel trucks, media-marked vehicles, firetrucks, ambulances, and vehicles carrying perishable and/or essential goods.

“Paalala ng MMDA: mag-ingat sa pagmamaneho at tiyaking updated sa mga weather reports,” the agency also said.

(Reminder from MMDA: Be careful when driving and be updated on weather reports.)

Classes and government work were also suspended for Monday, September 1, 2025, due to the inclement weather. —KG, GMA Integrated News
