The Taguig City Police Station on Monday said initial evidence showed that there was no foul play in the death of two students in Signal Village National High School.
“Sa mga evidence po tinuturo na wala pong foul play (The pieces of evidence show that there was no foul play),” Taguig City Police chief Police Colonel Robert Baesa told GMA News Online in a message.
Even so, Baesa said the police continue to conduct interviews of witnesses, as well as relatives and classmates of the two high school students.
Almost midnight on Friday, the two female high school students were found lifeless in Signal Village National High School campus.
The Taguig police called on the public to avoid making speculation about their death that could worsen the situation of the grieving families.
According to the police, the probe will continue and it will be conducted thoroughly and expeditiously.
On Saturday, the Department of Education (DepEd) committed to coordinate with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to investigate the death of two high school students.
DepEd spokesperson Undersecretary Michael Poa said the concerned school division office is already in coordination with the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) regarding the matter.
“The DepEd fully commits to cooperate with the PNP Taguig regarding this matter, and is committed towards the swift and expeditious conduct of the ongoing investigation,” the agency said.
