NAIA 3 maintenance to cause power outage on Aug. 8 and 9

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s (NAIA) Terminal 3 will experience a four-hour power  supply interruption on August 8 and 9 due to maintenance works.

The scheduled outage from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. will affect the airport’s south concourse and roadway 2 substations, NAIA said.

“This temporary power shutdown is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance and upgrades to NAIA Terminal 3’s electrical system, aimed at improving its overall reliability,” it added in a social media post.

“It is expected that the power interruption will have no impact to flight operations,” it added.

During the power supply cut, NAIA said standby generators will be operational at the said substations to ensure continuous supply of electricity to critical equipment.

“We apologize for the inconvenience as limited areas across Levels 1 to 3 of Terminal 3 south concourse will be affected by this interruption,” it said.

The areas to be impacted are the Air Asia office, some lighting and outlets at Boarding Gates 101-112, moving walkways and elevators on Levels 2 and 3 of the International side, independent air conditioning systems for Boarding Gates 101-112 and passenger boarding bridges, and ramp offices, and food and retail concessionaires on Level 1.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
