MMDA: Magallanes Flyover repair work moved to October

The rehabilitation of the Magallanes Flyover, which had been scheduled to start this month, has been moved to October, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday.

In a press conference, MMDA chairperson Romando Artes said the repair of the EDSA-Kamuning flyover, which is partially closed, should be finished first.

“After na raw po ng Kamuning, so October na po magsisimula yung pagsasara pero sa gabi lamang. Hindi na po sila magsasara sa araw,” Artes said.

(They say it should be done after the Kamuning, so the closing will start in October, but only at night. They will no longer close during the day.)

Artes said the scheduled closure of the Magallanes flyover will be from 10 p.m to 5 a.m.

Meanwhile, the construction of a temporary bridge as the Guadalupe Bridge undergoes repair will start in September.

With these scheduled bridge repairs, Artes advised the public of possible heavier traffic. Alternative routes will be provided soon. — BM, GMA Integrated News
