Marikina River rises to 16 meters, second alarm raised

The second alarm was raised at the Marikina River early Thursday morning with the continuous rain overnight, according to information posted by the Marikina City Public Information Office.

The water level has reached 16 meters as of 4 a.m. on August 3.

It was reported earlier that the first alarm was raised when the river water rose to 15.5 meters at around 1 a.m. of August 3.

With the second alarm raised, residents living in low-lying and flood-prone areas would have to evacuate.
