A man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend’s former boyfriend who allegedly wanted her back in Pasig City.
According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report in “24 Oras” on Wednesday, CCTV footage showed that the suspect followed the victim along Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City and stabbed him on the neck, resulting in his death.
The police said the suspect killed the victim as he wanted the full love and attention of his girlfriend. Authorities are looking at a love triangle as the possible motive behind the crime.
“Pinag-aagawan ‘yung kanilang girlfriend. So dating girlfriend ito ng biktima, ngayon napunta sa suspect. Ang gustong gawin ng biktima, mapunta ulit sa kanya. Kaya itong suspect natin ay sinaksak itong biktima,” said Pasig Police Investigation Chief Police Major Loreto Tigno.
(They were fighting over a woman. So, this was the former girlfriend of the victim, who is now the suspect’s partner. What the victim wanted to do was to get her back. That’s why our suspect stabbed the victim.)
The suspect’s girlfriend coordinated with the police which led to his arrest.
The suspect will face murder charges. He underwent inquest proceedings during the day, the report said. Police said he is also being suspected of committing robberies.
