The local government of Makati has launched an online health clearance certificate system to provide applicants with an efficient process and “weed out fixers and ensure the safety of the public.”
The health clearance certificate is a requirement to obtain an individual mayor’s permit. It prove that an employee is physically fit and free from infectious diseases.
“This is a big step forward in streamlining the process and providing our citizens with an efficient way to obtain the certificate,” Makati Mayor Abigail Binay said Thursday.
Binay said that the standardized, digitized, and centralized health clearance system will help employees get their health certificates without going to City Hall.
Online applications are open at https://makati.healthcert.ph under the Health Certificate Application in the dashboard.
Applicants must also go to an accredited clinic or laboratory for a chest X-ray and stool exam. The diagnostic facilities will then submit documents to the MHD for approval before applicants can attend the online seminar.
According to the Makati’s website, City Ordinance 2019-A-102 requires non-food-related establishment workers to pay P80 for a health clearance certificate, P100 for food-related establishment workers, and P150 for executives, managers, and supervisors.
They also need to pay P50 for the processing of their documents and the seminar.
The health clearance certificate is valid until the end of the year and must be renewed every January.
Employees without health certificates will be penalized with a P1,000 fine for the first offense, P2,000 for the second offense, and P3,000 for the third offense. The owner of the establishment will have to shoulder the penalties. —Sherylin Untalan/NB, GMA Integrated News
