There was low visibility on the roads in parts of Metro Manila as rain pounded the National Capital Region and nearby Bulacan on Thursday afternoon.
In Dano Tingcungco’s report on “24 Oras,” the sudden rains and occasional thunder starting at around 1 p.m. resulted in bumper-to-bumper traffic along different roads, with Commonwealth, Araneta Avenue, and EDSA Kamuning to Santolan reportedly clogged with unmoving traffic.
According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), there was also gutter-deep waters on the Ortigas flyover.
In Plaridel, Bulacan, heavy traffic was also reported on Plaridel Bypass Road, and residents of Barangay Bulihan reported being flooded in their own homes due to the possible clogging of irrigation systems. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
