Last-minute travelers try to catch trips on Maundy Thursday

Several passengers who have just gotten off from work rushed to bus terminals or airports to try to catch trips on Maundy Thursday.

According to Bernadette Reyes and  Maki Pulido’s report on “24 Oras,” many bus lines are already fully booked for the week.

“Yung chance passenger po kung may nag rebook sa terminal, ‘yun nakakasakay,” said Alfredo Morcilla, bus dispatcher.

In demand trips include those bound for Batangas, Quezon, Dagupan, Tarlac and Baguio.

“Pagdating probinsiya balik agad dito kaso sabi ng ibang driver traffic sa bandang Tarlac kaya nade-delay and bus namin,” said dispatcher Eladio Cadaro.

Meanwhile, some travelers went to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) early to avoid the long queue.

According to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), more than 121,000 passengers traveled on Wednesday at the four terminals of the NAIA.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
