The fire started past 11 a.m. and quickly spread as most of the houses were made of light materials, according to GMA Integrated News’ Jamie Santos.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has raised Task Force Alpha, then Task Force Bravo on Saturday afternoon.
Choppers have already been enlisted to assist by pouring water on the blaze from the air because it was difficult to enter the area, according to a 24 Oras Weekend report by Santos.
Firetrucks have occupied both directions of Road 10.
Firemen and fire volunteers struggled to put out the blaze due to strong winds.
The BFP said a total of seven individuals were injured, while no casualties were reported.
The fire caused at least P2.5 million worth of damage, affecting nine buildings—five of which were totally gutted and four were partially damaged.
The BFP is still investigating what caused the fire, which was declared under control at 6:20 p.m.
The Philippine Red Cross also sent personnel to offer assistance.
