A fire broke out in a residential area in Barangay Teachers’ Village East in Quezon City before dawn on Monday.
It started at a two-storey home on Matimtiman Street past 4 a.m., according to a report by James Agustin on Unang Balita.
The fire also affected the house right next to it.
Residents in both houses were able to evacuate.
According to the head of the family in the first affected house, he woke up to the shouts of his wife saying there was a fire.
He said he tried using a fire extinguisher to put out the fire but was unsuccessful.
The fire sparked from the ceiling of a restroom on the second floor.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) raised the first alarm, which required eight fire trucks to respond.
The fire was finally put out at 5:37 a.m.
The BFP meanwhile is still determining the cause of the fire and the extent of property damage. —KG, GMA Integrated News
