Authorities arrested a former policeman wanted for murder in Caloocan City.
In John Consulta’s exclusive report on “Saksi” on Wednesday, the suspect exchanged gunfire with the authorities on Monday.
CCTV footage also showed the suspect fleeing in his black car to his house where he tried to get his other firearms. He was later cornered and surrendered.
“Meron tayong narekober na isang Ingram, isang 9mm, isang replica ng M-16 at isang granada,” said Police General Paul Kenneth Lucas, Police Region 4A Director.
He added the suspect is a former police officer of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and was dismissed in 2019.
The suspect was wanted for another shooting incident in Tanza, Cavite last week.
Another CCTV footage showed the suspect shooting a man he and his wife he was arguing with while the couple’s car was entering a garage. One died while the other was wounded in the incident.
The police located the suspect by backtracking several CCTV footage.
The suspect denied the allegations. When asked of his whereabouts on February 14, he claimed he was traveling.
Murder charges were filed against him Tuesday, while the Caloocan police will file charges for violating the Omnibus Election Code. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
