Disgruntled employees eyed in NAIA-3 car park blast

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said they are looking into disgruntled employees as possible perpetrators in the molotov bomb explosion in a parking area at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

“May tinitignan na po sila na mga indibidwal at grupo na maaaring may kinalaman. Possibly, isa sa mga tinitignan nila may mga disgruntled na mga indibidwal na nagtatrabaho sa loob,” PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo told reporters.

(They are looking into some individuals and a group who were involved. Possibly, one of the angles they are considering is that there were disgruntled employees inside the airport.)

Based on the initial findings, Fajardo said the molotov blast was not really meant to harm or injure because it was a weak kind of an explosive.

On Saturday, three cars were damaged by glass shards after a molotov bomb went off in the open parking area of NAIA Terminal 3 at 9:35 a.m.

PNP’s Aviation Security Group and National Capital Region Police Office are conducting the investigation.

The investigators are obtaining CCTV footage in the area, according to Fajardo.  —NB, GMA Integrated News
