Authorities are searching for two suspects who allegedly killed a 37-year-old man and severed his feet in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the Northern Police District (NPD) said a barangay utility worker found the body of the victim in an apartment unit.
The NPD Forensic Unit confirmed that the victim had a stabbed wound on his back, deep lacerations on his neck, and amputated feet that were placed inside a blue cooler.
Following the investigation, the police identified two suspects after a witness coordinated with the police.
The NPD also said the witness confessed to his mother that he saw one of the suspects severing the victim’s legs but did not intervene out of fear.
The suspects are facing murder charges.
The NPD called on the public to report any leads on the suspects’ whereabouts to the nearest police station.
“We will not stop until the suspects are brought to justice. Our police units are working tirelessly to locate and apprehend them. We urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and help ensure that those responsible for this brutal act are held accountable,” NPD district director Police Colonel Josefino Ligan said. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
