Court work in NCR suspended for August 28 amid flooding

The Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed work on Wednesday, August 28 amid potential flooding brought by heavy rains.

“Acting Chief Justice Marvic MVF Leonen suspends office hours for today, August 28, 2024, in the SC except for essential services,” the SC said.

In separate posts, the SC announced that the Court of Appeals (CA) and the Sandiganbayan also suspended work due to heavy rainfall and flooding.

The SC said that the frontline services of the CA will continue.

 

Meanwhile, court work was also suspended in the following areas due to inclement weather:  

  • Muntinlupa – All Metropolitan Trial Courts (MeTC) and regional trial courts (RTCs)
  • Mandaluyong — All RTCs, MeTCs, and Office of the Clerk of Court (OCC)
  • San Juan — All RTCs and the Family Court
  • Quezon City — All courts  

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat brought heavy rains and caused waist-deep floods in some parts of Metro Manila.

Classes in public schools and work in government agencies were suspended in the National Capital Region on Wednesday due to the inclement weather. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
