A Chinese woman was allegedly robbed and raped by fellow Chinese citizens inside a hotel in Pasay City, according to a “Saksi” report by Darlene Cay.
The 38-year-old victim was transacting with the suspects online to exchange her money from Chinese Yuan to Philippine Peso.
She agreed to meet the suspects, who she thought was a woman, at a hotel in Pasay City to do the exchange.
However, she was held at gunpoint the moment she arrived at the designated hotel room.
“Unfortunately, when she went to the appointed room, there were another three males [and] they actually controlled her and forced her to pass all of her items… They did something [like] sexual harassment to her… She had no choice because it was life threatening and it was about life or death,” said the victim’s friend, who spoke for her as she was still traumatized due to the incident.
After she was allegedly robbed of up to P20,000 worth and raped, the suspects released her.
The victim filed a report to the Pasay City Police, who immediately conducted an operation and nabbed a female and male suspects from said hotel room.
They were also able to seize two guns from the scene.
“Foreign national sila. Bakit naman mayroon silang baril? It’s a part of the investigation, tatanungin natin ano trabaho nila dito. Anong purpose na nandito sila sa bansa natin? ‘Yun naman yung inaano natin… pero sa ngayon, di pa natin masabi kung involved ba sila sa POGO operation,” said Pasay Police Chief Police Colonel Samuel Pabonita.
(They are foreign nationals. Why do they have guns? It’s a part of the investigation, we will ask what their jobs are in the country. What is their purpose in our country? That’s what we’re looking into… but as of now, we can’t say if they really are involved in POGO operations.)
The suspects in custody refused to comment as they said they cannot speak English.
