Classes in Ponciano Bernardo High School in Cubao, Quezon City, have been suspended on Thursday morning due to a bomb threat, the school’s disaster contact person said.
According to a report from Quezon City Police District (QCPD), teacher Marlon Lalik saw a bomb threat message from a certain Bob Key Ser Panganiban in the Facebook page of the school.
“May tinanim ako na bomba sa elementary, sasama tayong mauubos [I planted a bomb in the elementary school, we will all be wiped out],” the messag read, which was sent at 12:57 a.m., read.
The teacher then forwarded the message to his head Melanie Santos, who relayed the information to the school principal Dominga Cabadin. The school head conducted an inspection on the campus.
QCPD explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) responded to the school. According to the QCPD public information office, the threat turned out to be “negative.”
The school’s contact person for disaster told Super Radyo dzBB that the students were in the middle of their examination when the incident happened.
Aside from the high school, the Ponciano Bernardo Elementary School, located inside the same compound, also received a bomb threat, he said.
Due to this, students were asked to go home.
Bomb threats were also reported at New Era Elementary School and San Francisco High School in the past few days. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA Integrated News
