An infant was found dead inside an ecobag which a woman tried to push into a drainage in Sampaloc, Manila.
According to Mariz Umali’s report on “24 Oras”, the woman was caught on CCTV on Wednesday morning at the corner of España Boulebard and Maria Cristina Street.
She was seen in the video placing an object inside the drainage and kicking it a number of times to push it in.
What she did was also witnessed by residents, who complained of the foul smell from what they to be trash thrown into the drain.
A street sweeper then alerted barangay authorities.
When they opened the box inside the ecobag, they saw the baby still with the umbilical cord.
“Inaalam pa identity ng babae. ‘Di masabi kung nanay or napag-utusan pero malinaw na intentional na abortion kasi kung hindi, sana sa ospital siya dinala hindi sa kanal,” said Police Staff Sergeant Danny Kabigting of the Sampaloc Police Station. —NB, GMA Integrated News
