Authorities: Karaoke, loud celebrations only until 10 p.m.

To many Filipinos, videoke has become a part of celebrations, especially during the Christmas season and as the holidays go full swing, authorities are reminding the public to refrain from excessive sing-along “concerts” that extend until the morning.

According to a State of the Nation report on Monday, videoke parties past 10 p.m. such as in Barangay Pasong Tamo in Quezon City have become a recurring problem.

Meanwhile in Matandang Balara in another part of the city, barangay officials have managed to control the problem by calling out revelers via the community public address system.

To remedy the situation, various local government units have been tasked to implement ordinances that limit videoke, karaoke and activities that create excessive noise while enforcing the cut off time of loud parties to 10 p.m.  —RF, GMA Integrated News
