Authorities arrested a 34-year-old suspect who identified as female for threatening to spread the private photos of a 20-year-old male if he objected to having sex.
According to John Consulta’s Tuesday report in “24 Oras,” members of the National Bureau of Investigation Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI-OTCD) found the suspect inside a motel in Sampaloc, Manila.
The victim first met the suspect on a dating app last June 25, the report said.
The young male was later asked for more private photos or the suspect would spread the previous set of pictures he had sent.
However, the victim was traumatized when the suspect demanded that they have sex.
“Makipag-sex lang daw po talaga. Walang involved na pera, walang kahit ano, basta sex lang po talaga. Makipag-meetup po sa kanya. Kasi kapag pag di raw nakipag meetup sa kanya… ise-send niya po talaga sa mga kakilala ko at mga magulang ko,” the victim said, adding that he was unable to sleep after being threatened.
(It was just about having sex. There was no money involved or anything, just sex. The suspect wanted a meetup, otherwise, my private photos would be sent to my friends and family.)
The NBI-OTCD said that the suspect had other victims.
“Di lang ito ang biktima, marami itong nabiktima na. Sanay na sanay na siya, the way na makipag-usap sa complainant,” said NBI-OTCD chief Jerome Bomediano.
(He is not the only victim. There were others. It appeared the suspect had been doing this for a while based on the conversation with the complainant.)
The suspect denied that it was a case of sexual extortion, but gave no further comments to GMA Integrated News.
NBI Director Jimmy Santiago said that cases of grave coercion in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and for violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 would be filed against the suspect. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/DVM, GMA Integrated News
