A 31-year-old man was shot dead by riding-in-tandem suspects on the evening of March 13 in Barangay Kalawaan, Pasig City.
According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report in “24 Oras” on Monday, the suspects were immediately arrested in less than 24 hours.
Police said the gunman has existing charges for illegal possession of firearms and explosives, carnapping, and murder.
“Our suspect is the leader of a criminal gang, and the other suspect is one of his members,” said Police Major Loreto Tigno, chief for investigation of the Pasig Police, in Tagalog.
Investigation showed the victim threatened the hitman that he would report him to police if he would not stop his illegal drug activities in their neighborhood.
“The angle we see here is connected to drugs because our suspect was being threatened by the victim that he will report him if he will not stop pushing drugs in their area,” said Tigno.
Meanwhile, the detained suspects said that they will give their statements before court. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
