15-year-old boy fatally stabbed by fellow student in Baseco, Manila

A 15-year-old student was killed after he was stabbed by a fellow Grade 10 student in Baseco, Manila Monday evening. 

In a report on Balitanghali, GMA Integrated News’ Jhomer Apresto said the victim sustained six stab wounds on his chest, side, and back. 

The incident happened at the back of a school in Baseco around 7 p.m.

A CCTV footage showed the 16-year-old suspect who was wearing white shirt, black shorts, and while socks waiting for the victim while a cellphone video showed the suspect stabbing the victim during a fight.

The victim and his companion, at one point, was able to corner the suspect but the latter was able to flee while a man wearing a black shirt was seen holding the victim’s back. The fight lasted for a few seconds.

After the fight, the victim was able to walk away but immediately collapsed. He died while undergoing treatment in the hospital, according to the Manila Police District.

The girlfriend of the victim said it was their monthsary last Saturday when the suspect, who was her teammate in Sepak, started bothering them. This incident led to fight on Monday night.

“Rest in peace tapos sana po mahanap niya ‘yung justice na gusto niya. Sana po managot ‘yung mga nambugbog sa kanya kasi di naman po ganoong tao si JC, malambing po siya,” she said. 

The victim’s mother said her son wanted to be a soldier.

“Pangarap talaga niyang mag-sundalo. Ngayon wala na ‘yung pangarap ng anak ko… wala na,” the mother said.

The suspect was found in the house of his classmate while knife he used to stab the victim was found in the trash can. 

The mother of the suspect apologized to the family of the victim.

“Patawad po, hindi po napigilan ng anak ko. ‘Yung anak ko kasi maliit daw siya, nanigurado na lang siya nakahanda raw siya,” she said. 

The victim’s mother, on the other hand, appealed to others involved in the incident, especially to the man who gave the suspect a knife, to surrender. 

“Pinagtulungan nila eh, palagay mo nang matapang ‘yung anak ko, dapat hindi mo na sinaksak. Binugbog mo na lang,” she said. 

Officials of Barangay 649 said they will be deploying additional personnel to man the back of the school to avoid similar incident.

“Sa tuwing iikot ‘yung pulis at barangay po, tumatakbo ‘yan mga ‘yan eh so kami nagre-reach out talaga kami every Friday, dagdagan pa mga kapulisan sa loob,” Kagawad Edgardo Campañera said.

The suspect will stay with the MPD Homicide Section while waiting for the Department of Social Welfare and Development.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
