CABANATUAN CITY – A village head in Nueva Ecija’s northern town of Lupao was shot dead by two unidentified men at about 5:50 am Tuesday.
Police identified the victim as Reginald Espiritu, 46, married, of Barangay San Isidro of the said municipality.
Investigation disclosed the victim was in front of his store when two motorcycle riding men, both wearing pants and jacket, arrived and repeatedly shot him with cal. 45 pistols.
The victim.was rushed to the Heart of Jesus Hospital in San Jose City but was declared dead upon arrival by attending physician, police reported.
Forensic investigators recovered from the crime scene two unfired bullets and and two spent shells from a .45 caliber pistol.
Police waged a hot pursuit in an effort to get the assassins, according to the police report.
Police have yet to establish the identities of the killers as well as the motive behind the crime.
