‘Squid Game’ experiences take over the world — and now the Philippines

What started as a breakout Korean drama has become a global cultural phenomenon. Now, “Squid Game” is more than just a hit Netflix series — it’s a real-world experience that fans around the world can step into, with immersive attractions popping up in major cities like Seoul, London, New York, Sydney, and now, Manila.

In Seoul, where the series originated, Netflix previously launched Squid Game: The Experience, allowing fans to walk through a replica of the show’s surreal, high-stakes playground.

London took it a step further with Squid Game: The Challenge, combining a reality competition with a live experience featuring games like Red Light, Green Light and Marbles.

In New York, a permanent setup at Manhattan Mall lets visitors try their luck on classic challenges and shop official merchandise.

Meanwhile, Sydney offers a similar lineup of fan-favorite games such as Glass Bridge and Marbles in its own version of the experience.

Now, Filipino fans get their chance to join the action.

PLDT Home brings Squid Game to the Philippines through a nationwide in-store activation that runs from July onwards. Held in select PLDT stores, the local version features a six-game mini challenge inspired by the show.

Open to PLDT Home Fiber applicants, the activity offers participants the chance to win up to P5,000 in prizes — all without the high-stakes drama.

The experience is available at PLDT Stores in SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, SM Southmall, SM Lipa, SM Baguio, SM Seaside Cebu, and Abreeza Mall Davao. Each location is decked out in Squid Game-themed décor, letting fans snap photos and take part in the experience.

Those who sign up for a PLDT Home Fiber Netflix Plan 1599 at the event can also claim a green tracksuit, similar to the one worn by the show’s characters, while supplies last.

“We know the impact Squid Game has globally including Filipino streamers. And so once again, we are here for our kababayans – breathing the hit show to life through interactive activations at our stores across the country,” said Patrick Tang, PLDT Home Acquisition Marketing First Vice President.
