BALANGA City: SM Foundation, Inc. through SM City Bataan donated 481 textbooks to a public elementary school in Barangay Tuyo here Tuesday, a few days before the scheduled opening of classes.
SM City Bataan public information officer Paula Gayeta said the books given to the Tuyo Integrated School were textbooks on Science, Math, Araling Panlipunan, among some others, intended for the elementary from Grades 1 – 6.
She said that access to books remains a pivotal gateway to learning and personal growth and SM Foundation recognizes the deep impact of knowledge in today’s world.
“This initiative aims to bridge the gap between available resources and those in need that fosters a culture of learning and giving. This SM Foundation book donation project is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to quality education,” Gayeta explained.
“By distributing books to public schools, this donation seeks to empower individuals, especially young learners with the tools they need to succeed. Books not only enhance literacy skills but also open doors to new worlds, knowledge, and ideas,” she stressed.
School principal Dr. Roberto Gabriel thanked SM Foundation, Inc. and SM City Bataan for the donation that he said will be of great help to teachers and school children. (30)
