MANILA, Philippines —The Quezon City government will close roads and put a zipper lane around the Edsa People Power Monument starting Monday night in preparation for the “Trillion Peso March 3” led by Caritas Philippines and other civil groups.
Authorities will enforce a zipper lane along White Plains Avenue between Edsa and Katipunan Avenue from 9 p.m. on Feb. 24 until 6 a.m. the following day to manage the initial flow of participants.
White Plains Avenue will be fully closed to traffic starting at 6 a.m. on Feb. 25, as civil society groups gather for the main rally scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
Motorists should expect heavy congestion along Edsa, Katipunan Avenue, Ortigas Avenue, and Temple Drive, with personnel from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and city traffic units deployed to assist in the area.
The Quezon City Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) advised the public to use alternative routes and plan travel ahead to avoid the expected buildup near the monument.
