PHILIPPINE tourism programs generated over P144 million in sales leads and won the “Island Charm Award” at the Diving, Resort, and Travel (DRT) Show held in Beijing from August 8 to 10. The delegation was led by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) and the Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT)-Beijing.
The award recognized the country’s effective promotion of its island and scuba diving destinations. The Philippine booth attracted numerous dive enthusiasts and travel agents through targeted business-to-business (B2B) sessions and presentations on key sites like Bicol.
A major highlight was the “Philippine Dive Night,” a networking event that connected 50 Chinese dive operators with local resorts and stakeholders to build partnerships.
TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles said the event was a rewarding opportunity to engage the Chinese market and showcase the country’s world-class dive experiences. She expressed optimism that the participation will strengthen the Philippines’ positioning in the Asia-Pacific market and attract more visitors to its dive destinations.
