MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Academy of Family Physicians Inc. (PAFP) and MIMS Philippines solidified their partnership by signing the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) aimed at developing collaborative content for MIMS Doctor, a quarterly multidisciplinary magazine for the Philippine medical community.
The MOA, effective from Jan. 1, 2026 to Dec. 31, 2028, stipulates that the PAFP will be creating content for MIMS Doctor, while MIMS Philippines will be handling editorial oversight, publication and distribution.
“The academy, with our focus on training family and community medicine specialists, welcomes this development as another opportunity to instruct and promote the patient-centered, family-focused and community-oriented approach to the care and management of Filipino patients and families’,” said Dr. Josefina Isidro-Lapeña, PAFP president.

With the MOA-signing, PAFP will be able to leverage MIMS Doctor‘s advantages: its wider circulation and its position among readers as a trusted source of practice-relevant, evidence-informed content grounded in Filipino clinical realities.
In particular, MIMS Doctor, as a learning and reference platform, will be able to help PAFP communicate to the larger medical community the importance of family medicine and primary care in prevention, continuity of care and multidisciplinary collaboration, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes.
“We are hoping that PAFP’s expertise will bring better stories and insights, and a higher standard of medical education to MIMS Doctor, one of our flagship publications,” said Richard Rivera, MIMS Philippines president and country representative.
The MOA marks the second time that PAFP and MIMS Philippines have collaborated, following their recent work on MIMS Education, MIMS Philippines’ online continuing medical education (CME) platform.
