The Navotas Navigational Gate overflowed with water late Sunday night due to the strong storm surge caused by Super Typhoon Uwan.
According to Rhommel Balasbas’ report on Super Radyo dzBB, the overflow happened at 10:42 p.m. Sunday as Uwan continued to batter parts of the country.

The Navotas City Public Information Office said the navigational gate was closed as part of precautionary measures to prevent floods from Uwan.
However, the strong winds and storm surge from the super typhoon still caused it to overflow with water ahead of the high tide.
The Navotas City government is currently using pumping stations to pump out the water, but will cease pumping out water if the water continues to rise.
