MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would have mostly fair weather within the next 24 hours, the state weather agency said early Sunday.
Weather specialist Daniel James Villamil of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the easterlies—humid and warm winds that pass through the Pacific Ocean—prevail in Luzon, and the trough of Tropical Storm Koto (formerly Verbena) continues to affect Kalayaan Islands in Palawan.
Another weather system, shear line—the convergence of hot and cold air—would bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the provinces of Cagayan and Apayao, he said.
The northeast monsoon (amihan) is also affecting Batanes, where overcast skies with light rains are likely, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, Visayas, Mindanao, and the rest of Palawan will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, it added.
