Metro Manila LGUs suspend classes due to ‘Opong’

MANILA, Philippines — Several local governments in Metro Manila suspended classes in selected levels on Thursday due to Severe Tropical Storm “Opong.”

In Pasig City, classes at day care centers and kindergarten levels in both public and private schools were called off.

Taguig City also suspended day care and kindergarten classes in public and private schools.

Quezon City ordered the suspension of classes in child development centers and kindergarten in public schools.

Valenzuela City canceled in-person classes at all levels in both public and private schools.

Malabon City suspended kindergarten classes in public and private schools.

Caloocan City ordered the suspension of classes in day care centers and kindergarten in both public and private schools.

The municipality of Pateros also suspended classes in day care centers and kindergarten in both public and private schools.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised the public to monitor for further announcements as weather conditions may change.
