Lazatin deploys 10 buses for free ride of AC residents during transport ban

ANGELES CITY — In anticipation of the week-long transportation strike, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. ordered the deployment of free bus rides throughout the city for all Angeles City residents.

The free ride will begin on March 6, 2023 from 5 am to 12 midnight, following five routes of 10 deployed Philippine Rabbit buses along Cutud-Sapang Maisac boundary; Balibago-Dau boundary; Cutcut-Porac boundary; Sto. Domingo-San Fernando boundary; and Mining-Malino boundary.

Lazatin said this is to ensure that transportation services will be available for the public, prioritizing their safety and convenience once the transportation strike happens.

Lazatin on March 1, 2023 held an immediate meeting with Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Public Transportation Regulatory Office concurrent Officer-in-Charge Ferdinand Calma, Angeles City Traffic Development Office Head Francis Pangilinan, and Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office Head Irish Bonus-Llego for the preparation and strategic planning prior the strike.

Lazatin furthered that this is to avoid any disruptions especially for the workers during the upcoming nationwide transportation strike.

To recall, the city government under the stint of Mayor Lazatin, provided free shuttle services to the City Hall frontline workers and residents of Angeles City amid the lockdown.
