When I spotted the board-up featuring Golden Goose’s logo at Fashion Square in Greenbelt 5 a few weeks ago, I knew the opening was coming soon.
Sure enough, a few hours earlier, Greenbelt posted on their @ilovegreenbelt Instagram account a photo of a Golden Goose sneaker with the caption, “Golden Goose makes its highly anticipated debut in the Philippines with the launch of Fioreria Golden, a special pop-up store at Manila’s premier shopping destination, Greenbelt.”
We reached out to Greenbelt general manager Iza Arcilla for more details, and here’s what we found out. This 100-square-meter pop-up will feature not only the brand’s popular sneakers but also ready-to-wear pieces and leather goods.
The Instagram post also gave a hint of what’s to come, “At the heart of Fioreria Golden is the concept of ‘Fioreria,’ meaning ‘flower shop’ in Italian, which perfectly encapsulates this unique retail experience.”
I’ve heard from friends that not all Golden Goose stores are the same. Some offer extra services, like personalizing your sneakers. I was lucky enough to visit one such branch at Gateway Arcade, Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, where you can customize your purchased sneakers with charms, studs, laces, and more. And trust me, you’ll need help to finalize the personalization, or you might end up spending the whole day there—there are so many options!
“In the Co-Creation area, craftsmanship and creativity take center stage. Customers are invited to personalize their Golden Goose pieces in a flower-themed universe, collaborating with the brand’s Dream Makers to create one-of-a-kind designs. Stay tuned as it opens its doors on Feb. 21, 2025, at 11 a.m.,” ended the post.
So, what can we expect? Their philosophy that every Golden Goose item is unique is reinforced by the Co-Creation service, available both online and in-store. This allows customers to create a more personalized piece, in collaboration with the store’s Dream Makers, as highlighted in the Instagram post.
From charms and studs to changing laces and even Swarovski crystal embellishments, Dream Makers can also create live illustrations as customers share their vision. As stated on its website, “Drawing upon our core values, the co-creation process allows for a deeper connection and fosters authenticity, while honoring the real you.”
The fact that this service is available here, even if temporarily, is truly exciting. It’s a whole different experience to customize in-store rather than planning virtually through their website. It’s a unique opportunity for sneaker lovers and the brand’s fans to create something truly personal and one-of-a-kind.
