First lady leads ‘Lab for All’ caravan in Malabon

FIRST lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led on Tuesday the medical mission and outreach program brought by the “Lab for All” caravan, benefiting over 1,500 residents.

Sandoval thanked the first lady for taking time to visit the city and mingle with her constituents, especially those from the poor sector who availed of the numerous medical services.

“The people of Malabon were lucky because the first lady, herself, took time despite her busy schedules to come to the city to personally offer the various medical and social services through the Lab for All caravan she had initiated,” Sandoval said.

Held at the Malabon Sports Center, the medical mission under the “Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot Para sa Lahat” caravan provided, among others, free medical consultation and oral and laboratory tests as well as dental services, the mayor said.

Other services offered during the caravan include ECG (electrocardiogram), BMI (body mass index), urinalysis, chest X-ray, blood sugar test, fetal Doppler, cholesterol test, ultrasound for pregnant women, uric acid test, hemoglobin test, as well as free medicines.

City Administrator Alexander Rosete told The Manila Times that most of those who availed of the caravan services were affected by the consecutive tropical storms that struck the country this month — Crising, Dante, Emong, and the enhanced southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

Sandoval and Rosete reiterated their gratitude to the first lady for launching the Lab for All caravan project, which they said has been instrumental in extending immediate medical and even social services, especially to the poor Filipinos across the country.
